Renewal time can be easy.  With the right tools and agent, you can get through this with no sweat off your back.  Below are a few of our most popular questions from years past.  If you have more questions, please feel free to contact us directly.

Do I have to do anything to renew?

No, you don’t.  Your plan, whether direct through the carrier, or on the marketplace, will automatically renew if you do nothing.

If your plan is not available next year, the carrier will automatically switch you to the plan that is closest to what you had the year prior.

Will my rate be going up?

Unfortunately, yes.  Just like years prior the cost for health insurance will be going up.  We have expected this to happen for the first three years of Obamacare and hope that it will level out over the next two years.

If you do get a subsidy to help pay your premium, the subsidy will be going up too to help offset the additional premium.  We can review your policy and let you know what changes will be in store for you in 2017.

How can I save money?

We can help you look into other plans and/or other carriers.  Each year the plans change and the carriers offer different premiums.  We can look into different deductible amounts as well.  There are plenty of avenues to find a better premium, and we can help you do that.

Are any carriers going out of business?

Last year we saw Arches go out of business, and Blue cross, Altius and Bridgespan all drop out of the marketplace.  This year we don’t see any changes in carriers happening.  The two top carriers on the marketplace this year are Selecthealth and Molina.  There is also University of Utah Plans and Humana plans available in some areas.

What do I do if I want to change plans?

Call, text or email us.  You can change plans and stay at the same carrier, or change carriers completely during Open Enrollment.  All the new plans and rates will be available starting November 1, 2016.  We can help you shop and make the changes you want at that time.
